Gorilla Tag custom maps, crossovers and experiments

SuperCatCrazeGT builds custom Gorilla Tag maps that bring in characters and ideas from other games, plus tutorials and experiments with AI. Most thumbnails show his blue gorilla in a white pot hat next to the added character, with one short word and a red arrow; his most-viewed recent videos drop that template for one strange, photo-like image.

I Taught a Fly How to Play Gorilla Tag (seriously) (watch on YouTube, new tab)

A photo-real fly wears a white VR headset with coloured wires running to a monitor that shows Gorilla Tag, under a red 'Fly' label and arrow. The image is absurd but readable in a second, and '(seriously)' in the title answers the doubt it raises. The follow-up with a real gorilla in a headset had about 245,000 views (18.1 times the median) at five days old, so the idea may be repeatable.

I Trained an AI to Beat Gorilla Tag’s Fastest Player (watch on YouTube, new tab)

A crowd of rainbow-coloured gorillas labelled 'HUMANS' sits behind one red gorilla labelled 'AI', with a red arrow on it and a black-and-white checkered finish line on the right. Two words and a race line tell the story: one against many, who wins? The title adds the stake, beating the game's fastest player.

I Added Meccha Chameleon into Gorilla Tag… (watch on YouTube, new tab)

170,684 views, 12.6 times the median. 'MEcCHA GORILLA' is written in rainbow letters across a red brick wall, and a gorilla painted half white, half brick is pressed against it as if camouflaged. The thumbnail renames the game Meccha Chameleon to fit Gorilla Tag and shows its blending trick instead of explaining it. It is a collaboration listed on several channels, which may also have widened its reach.

Thumbnail style

What SuperCatCrazeGT's thumbnails have in common

  • One template for the map series

17 of the 30 thumbnails in the sample show his blue gorilla in a white cooking-pot hat. In the 'I Added X' videos it sits on the left, with a one-word question in white outlined letters at the top right ('Verity?', 'UGVR?', 'Brainrot?', 'Roblox?') and a thick red curved arrow pointing at the guest. Each new episode only changes the guest.

  • Red marks what is new

When the caption has two parts, the new thing is in red and the rest in white: 'Huggy' red with 'Wuggy' white, 'You VS' white with 'Homer' red, 'The' white with 'Backrooms...' red. The arrows are red too, so the eye lands on the guest first.

  • The biggest recent videos leave the avatar out

The 4 most-viewed videos in the sample (the fly, the AI race, the real gorilla and Meccha Gorilla) don't show the blue pot-hat gorilla at all. Each is built around one odd image: a photo-real fly or gorilla wearing a VR headset, a crowd of rainbow gorillas racing one red one, a gorilla painted into a brick wall.

  • Same frame, very different results

Inside the template, views vary a lot: 'I Added Verity into Gorilla Tag…' reached about 154,000, 'I Added UG into Gorilla Tag…' about 57,000 and 'I Added MINECRAFT into Gorilla Tag...' about 10,000, with almost the same layout. The guest probably matters more than the frame.

  • Bright lettering is not a guarantee

Some one-offs use loud multicoloured titles: 'LASER TAG' in blocky arcade letters, each a different colour, above three gorillas firing a laser through neon beams. That thumbnail is one of the most striking in the sample, yet 'I Added Laser Tag into Gorilla Tag…' had 7,588 views, below the 13,500 median.

What you can borrow

Ideas to take to your own channel

  1. Build a repeatable frame for a series (avatar, guest, red arrow, one word) so each new episode changes only one thing.
  2. Colour only the new element in red, in the caption and the arrow, and keep the rest white.
  3. Rename a borrowed idea to fit your game ('Meccha Gorilla') and show its key trick in the picture.
  4. For a bigger idea, try one absurd real-world image, like an animal in a VR headset, and let the title answer the doubt ('(seriously)').
  5. When the same template gets 10,000 views on one video and 154,000 on another, change the idea before redesigning the layout.

YouTube rounds public counts (118K, 1.2M…), so every number here is approximate. The multiple is a video's views divided by the median of the channel's recent uploads: ×3 means three times the usual audience. A high multiple is a lead worth studying, not proof that the thumbnail caused it: the topic, the timing and YouTube's recommendations play a part too. Click-through rate and impressions are private; only the channel owner can see them.

FAQ

Questions about SuperCatCrazeGT

How many subscribers does SuperCatCrazeGT have?
As of 23 October 2026, SuperCatCrazeGT has about 108K subscribers (YouTube's rounded figure) and around 390 videos. Across the 30 recent uploads we sampled, the median was 13,500 views. A few went far beyond it: 'I Taught a Fly How to Play Gorilla Tag (seriously)' had about 1.1 million views three weeks after upload.
What does SuperCatCrazeGT make videos about?
He makes custom maps for Gorilla Tag, the VR game where players move as gorillas using only their arms, and films people playing them. Many videos add something from outside the game, such as Spider-Man, Laser Tag, Minecraft or the Backrooms. Lately he also posts experiments, like training an AI or teaching a fly to play, plus map-making tutorials, cosmetics and merch updates.
What do SuperCatCrazeGT's thumbnails look like?
Most show his blue gorilla in a white pot hat, a red curved arrow and the added character, under a short white word like 'Verity?' or 'Minecraft'. His most-viewed recent videos use another style: one striking image, such as a fly or a real gorilla wearing a VR headset, or a crowd of gorillas labelled 'HUMANS' against one labelled 'AI'.
What game does SuperCatCrazeGT play?
Gorilla Tag. Almost every video in our sample is set in Gorilla Tag or its custom maps, with the occasional reverse crossover such as 'I Added Gorilla Tag into Roblox…'. The crossovers borrow characters and ideas from other games, but Gorilla Tag's arm-swinging movement stays at the centre.
